The inaugural function of 'Velicham', the school edition of Madhyamam newspaper, was held at Model High School, Pezhumkara during the morning assembly on 03 June 2025.

The program began with a warm welcome address by Sri. Pushparaj N.P., the Principal, who highlighted the importance of student journalism and the role of media in shaping young minds.

The newspaper was officially inaugurated by Sri. Abdul Salam, Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Palakkad District. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the efforts of the school in encouraging students to engage in creative writing and journalistic activities. He emphasized the power of the written word and how it can be a tool for social change and awareness.

The function concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Sri. Basheer P.M., the Vice Principal, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, the faculty, students, and all those who contributed to the successful launch of 'Velicham'.

The event was a memorable and inspiring one, marking a new beginning in the school’s journey towards fostering critical thinking and expression among students.
